Entrepreneurship Development and Innovation Institute of Tamil Nadu ( ), (An autonomous society of the Government of Tamil Nadu), functions in a campus in SIDCO Industrial Estate at Guindy. Hon’ble Chief Minister had launched New Entrepreneurs Enterprise Development Scheme (NEEDS) in the year 2013-14 to assist first generation entrepreneurs. So far 2606 entrepreneurs have been assisted under NEEDS. In addition, Prime Minister self Employment Programme (PMEGP) and Urban Youth Self Employment Generation Programme (UYEGP) also has helping thousands of businesses to emerge. Entrepreneurs who start new businesses require handholding and advisory support. Further, they need to learn networking skills. Networking skills include linking up with successful and experiences businessmen vendors, customers, bankers, technology suppliers, etc. to learn business and problem-solving skills. In order to assist NEEDS (New Entrepreneurs Enterprise Development Scheme), PMEGP (Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme) and UYEGP entrepreneurs to network and learn from each other, a monthly networking meet is being organized by EDII on the second Friday of every month, in collaboration with the Chennai Chapter of The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE). The first networking meet was organized on 13th May 2016 benefiting 20 entrepreneurs. The second meet organized on 10th June 2016 had 36 entrepreneurs participating, third networking meet was organized on 8th July 2016, where 38 entrepreneurs participated, the 4th networking meet was organized on 12th August 2016 at PSG, Coimbatore where 52 entrepreneurs participated, the 5th networking meet organised on 9th September 2016 benefiting 110 entrepreneurs and the 6th networking meet organised on 14th October benefited
